From
the director of the Academy Award® nominated film
THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS.
In the film, Silvio
(played by Silvio Muccino, the director’s younger brother)
has no interest in the student rebellion taking place at his
high school.
His fascination lies with Valentina (Giulia Carmignani),
the prettiest girl in the school, however, Valentina already
has a jealous boyfriend, Martino (Simone Pagani). Silvio
finally has a moment alone with Valentina, and they share
a kiss, but Silvio makes the mistake of telling his gossipy
best friend, Ponzi (Giuseppe Sanfelice). By the end of the
day the entire school knows about the kiss, including a very
angry Martino and Claudia (Giulia Steigerwalt), a young classmate
who has a big crush on Silvio.
As things grow more complicated for him at school,
Silvio finds no relief at home with his ex-revolutionary
parents (Anna Galiena and Luca De Flippo),
his love-starved brother (Enrico Silvestrin), and his secretive sister
(Giulia Ciccone). In the end, this smartly written farce of confused
intentions finds Silvio with a new object of affection – one he
had regarded simply as a friend but who, in fact, turns out to be much
more.

“Charming, funny and poignant.
But it's also a reminder that if we want an intelligent teen
romance, we have to import it.”

DAILY NEWS
“The entire ensemble of inexperienced kids plucked out of school to play
the student roles is appealing and unself-conscious.”
David Rooney, VARIETY
A credible, sardonic snapshot
that, for all its infectious energy, captures the very real
frustrations of inchoate adolescent rebellion.
Dennis Lim, THE VILLAGE
VOICE
“Wonderful filming
and superb acting. As Italian coming-of-age movies
go, BUT FOREVER IN MY MIND hits the nail right on the
head.”
Jason Salzenstein, EDGE BOSTON
“A wonderful visual
experience!”
